A Linux-first laptop

When we decide to purchase a laptop that is Linux-first (intended to run Linux out of the box) rather than converting a Windows machine, we have many additional advantages.

We get a reliable machine, with less fuss about compatibility, drivers, etc.

When we buy a laptop made for Linux, we reduce the chance of hardware or driver issues (WiFi, GPU, suspend/resume, etc).

The vendor has tested Linux on it and has developed custom firmware tools.

Instead of converting a Windows laptop (which can involve messing with BIOS, drivers, making things work), we get something ready.

A machine we can trust.

Good enough isn’t enough.

We want something we know works.

We select a vendor and model with a Linux-first ethos (hardware built and configured for Linux).

The vendor handled and simplified the Linux setup.

DeepComputing RISC-V laptops are perfect Linux-first systems.

Excellent power consumption, new chip architecture and build for Linux.
